Jim Gillette Singing 2 notes at once?

Jim Gillette is my vocal Idol of all time. He does this weird technique where he sings 2 notes at once. I think it's throat singing, but it really doesn't sound like it. Throat singing have harmonics and I don't hear him doing any harmonics. He doesn't double track because he does this live too. Could anyone help me out here ?
