How many appointments is it to get braces on?

after the first consultation isnt it usally the third appointment? i have crowded teeth they may have to remove my canine teeth just because they are all the way up on my gums i look like a vampire if i make a big smile :(..... would teeth removel or spacers be on the second appointment
